9th August 2016, Bangkok - The Global Halal Data Pool team had the pleasure of presenting the platform to the Federation of Thailand Industries as an accelerator to enhance the reach and capability of their manufactured products.

With the onset of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) the spirit of sharing and increasing cross border trade within ASEAN is tremendous, and GHDP with its ability to standardize product information as well as publish products in different markets is set to become a key fulcrum in the regions of Halal Trading.

Having already attained endorsements and sign ups from Indonesia, Republic of Korea and China, GHDP is set to enhance the potential and reach of Thailand’s Halal industry.

With such a successful meeting, further plans and progression on this movement are already in motion and surely, this will generate more interest for Halal traders such as in the Food & Beverage, Healthcare and Personal Care Companies and Cosmetic Industry.

10th – 11th August 2016, Kuala Lumpur – At a recently held special dialogue between SME Corp Malaysia (the coordinating Agency for the development of Small Medium Enterprises, under the Ministry of International Trade Malaysia) the Global Halal Data Pool was presented to some of Malaysia’s leading SME’s. 

An insightful presentation covering each and every benefit that signing up with GHDP would bring to both the supply chain, market access and traceability of businesses. Key points included the standardization of product information, the benefits of live information and the ability to instantly bring about turnkey solutions in addressing vital supply chain issues. 

GHDP would not only enhances consumer confidence towards SME brands, it would also stimulate the OEM capabilities of these SME’s. A detailed explanation of how GHDP connects to 32 global data pools, its benefits and the platforms ability to reach over 40,000 of the world’s largest retailers and buyers was also given.

The dialogue was attended by Puan Norhariti Jalil, Vice President of Halal Integrity, Halal Industry Development Corporation, En Ghazali Hamzah, Senior Manager of Business Advisory and Support Division of SME Corporation Malaysia and Puan Amnah Shaari, Chief Executive Officer of Serunai Commerce Sdn Bhd, the developer of Global Halal Data Pool.

Besides being able to take SME’s brand global many of the SME’s were also introduced to SME Corporation’s new SME growth program named Business Acceleration Program 2.0 or commonly known as BAP 2.0. This allows SME to seek refunds of up to 40% from their initial cost to come on board GHDP, enabling them to save on the capital expenditure needed to integrate itself onto the platform.

As part of this year WIEF, Serunai Commerce as the lead developer and manager of The Global Halal Data Pool, made an introduction presentation on the benefits of Global Halal Data Pool at the HDC hosted side stream forum, called Halal Industry Forum. The event was graced by Tun Haji Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi Former Malaysian Prime Minister.

The Halal Industry Forum is a half-day event consists of updates and presentations of special projects and initiatives that are in line with the theme and objective of WIEF, as they are considered key enablers in spurring the economic capabilities of Islamic communities.

GHDP’s participation in this year’s Forum is in line with the theme of this year’s WIEF which is the decentralizing and the promotion of SME-centric initiatives. GHDP has generated excitement throughout ASEAN business communities as well as having received tremendous support from China’s private sector as well. The ability of the platform to become the ideal fulcrum to traverse across economic borders while spurring on the development of new markets for regional SME’s is unsurpassed.

Presenting the platform during The Halal Industry Forum, the CEO of Serunai Commerce Sdn Bhd, the developer, and manager of GHDP, Pn. 25th August 2016, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - In conjunction with its 6th AGM, The Arab Malaysia Chamber of Commerce held a business symposium aiming to connect and enhance the networking between the Malaysian and Arab business sectors. Held at the MATRADE Convention and exhibition centre, the keynote address was delivered by the Minister of International Trade and Industry Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed. 

In his speech the Minister stressed the importance of business diversification and the increased focus on technology which is always the main change maker. He also outlined the various incentives as well as the incredible opportunity that Malaysia presents to its Arab partners as the conduit towards the regional ASEAN market.

The event was graced by the Minister of International Trade and Industry, Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Tuan Haji Mohamed Fauzy Abdul Hamid, President of Arab Malaysia Chamber of Commerce, Chief Executive Officer of Cyberview Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Faris Yahaya, honorable Ambassadors and Dignitaries of Arab states in Malaysia.

The Global Halal Data Pool received numerous inquiries during the networking session and received a tremendous boost in being invited to spread the possibilities of the platform throughout the Arab States. GHDP also attained an invitation to sign an MOU with AMCC, for the chamber to promote the platform across all its member states throughout the Arab League.

A recently held event in Jakarta Indonesia for the 12th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) saw the participation from Global Halal Data Pool which is a Malaysian Government initiative and managed by Serunai Commerce Sdn Bhd. Global Halal Data Pool is an online data hub that provides manufacturers, supplier, and traders to outreach their product market beyond their normal capabilities.

Global Halal Data Pool is a platform that enables each party from either end of the world to gain access and trade information digitally, hence with that possibility, a transaction will be done easier and faster than ever before.

The event saw a total of 5, 000 visitors, 2,600 delegates and 101 internationally known speakers during the 3 days’ event. Global Halal Data Pool has received welcoming numbers of registration on site as many have been looking for such opportunities to expand their market reach to promote their Halal products.

During WIEF, Global Halal Data Pool gave exposure to many visitors to further enhance their business and ensuring them that the opportunity is given equally to all traders, manufacturer, suppliers and buyers that their transaction will be easy and hassle-free.
